e_Marketing Blog WiMAX for Portland WiMAX service will soon be available in Portland, Oregon. What is WiMAX? It is a wireless alternative to cable or DSL. For a number of years this technology has promised to revolutionize the delivery of "last mile" service connecting homes and offices to internet access points. But these days the focus is more on mobile applications that make it a viable alternative to standard cell phone services. The provider of this service in Portland will be Clearwire, a company formed through joint cooperation of Sprint, Clearwire, Google, Intel, Comcast, and Time Warner. WiMAX will not be significantly cheaper than the alternatives, but it does promise to offer greater potential for merging disparate services such as internet, cell phone, Voip and cable tv. You can contribute to their accounts too. SmartyPig also has partnered with "top retailers" to offer you deals and cash incentives. It's free and you can even earn interest on your deposits. Free Blog or Your Own Domain? Once you've decided to create your own blog, the first question you have to address is whether you want your blog to be hosted on your own web hosting account or be part of an already established site like wordpress.com, blogger.com, or one of the many other free blogging sites. If you use one of the free "hosted" blogging sites (Wordpress.com, Blogger.com, LiveJournal.com, Blog.com, and many more) you can create a brand new blog in about 15 minutes. When you choose this option you become part of a larger site such as wordpress.com and your address will be something like http://yourtownrealestate.wordpress.com or http://yourtownmoneymanager.blogspot.com The advantage of this approach is that it is fast and cheap. Plus you will get some traction and search engine exposure for your blog because it will be part of a much larger network that gets crawled by the search engines on a regular basis. But in my estimation, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. |

So when submitting your link information, write it like a well-thought-out advertisement. Here are some guidelines...== Link Aufbau - Get Text Links == 1. Give your link text some length -- at least two sentences. If all "link pages" consisted of a short paragraph or two instead of five or six words, these link pages would have "content" and be more valuable. Most webmasters want substance (content) instead of one or two word descriptions. This will also make your listing stand out from the crowd. 2. Pack your link text with your most important keywords. You don't have to "hype" you site. Just pack your description with your most important information. This is called creating a keyword-rich "context". 3. Make sure your "anchor text" includes your most important keyword. Create more than one version of this link text. A long one should be roughly 200 characters. A short one might be less than 100 characters. Having two or three different versions and lengths of your link text ready to go will make your life a lot easier when it comes to actually placing your links. 5. Mix up your anchor text. If you are doing some serious "power linking" in an attempt to create hundreds, even thousands of inbound links, don't use the same anchor text all the time. The Search Engines may interpret repetition of the same link patterns as "unnatural" and manipulative. So use different versions of your anchor text and create different link text "contexts". The description also includes more of the most important keywords for this site. This enhances the "relevance" of the link page where your link appears. And here is another example... Links are embedded in blog posts and articles and distributed to many websites. Concentrate on building keyword-rich contexts in which your subject matter is clearly stated and your links can be clearly associated with the subject matter that is most "relevant" to your site.
